Sweet Summer Fun

This is a card I made for TGF's DT call. They wanted to see summer colors. Orange and yellow specifically. This image is from "Wonderland", one of the few rubber mounted images I have from TGF. I made the "oranges" by punching a piece of CS halfway down. I drew/colored the lines. The little jewels are from HL. I distressed the edges and stapled a small scrap of yellow ribbon to the white CS. I colored the image with my PrismaColor pencils. The sentiment is from the SU set "Very Punny".

Squigglefly Challenge #2

Since I am coming in late to the Squigglefly design team; I *just* missed last week's challenge. It was a recipe challenge. In all the hullaballoo I got my dates confused and made a card anyway. :) I didn't want my efforts to go to waste, so here is my creation:*The inside of the card reads: If that's what the early bird gets, I'm sleeping in!

I colored the cutie image with my PrismaColor pencils and then pop-dotted him. The blue line along the middle is blue floss that I threaded along the curve. The orange dotted paper is from DCWV. The "W" is chipboard.

Here is a link to Challenge #2 over at the Squigglefly blog. While you're there you can check out the current challenge as well. :)

For Kayleigh

If you read my last post you will remember Kayleigh. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I will let you read about her from her family blog (just click on her name). It has blessed me to see God moving to help this little girl through the crafting community. First the stamp company I am a DT member of (Modern Sugar Blvd) posted that they are donating profits from some of their stamps to Kayleigh's family. Then I read last night that another wonderful company wants to help as well.

The company is Paper Makeup Stamps. They have designed a beautiful stamp in Kayleigh's honor. As soon as I saw it I loved it! I immediately bought it and got to work! Here is what I made with this gorgeous image:
Just as with MSB, the profits from this digi stamp go to Kayleigh's family. What a great way to help out this sweet family and their precious baby girl. The images from both companies are awesome and you'll be helping a family who could really use a little extra love right now.

Email me at w_angel_diosa@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know it's not as "scrappy" as my other posts, but I felt like I should do even my small part in helping Kayleigh and her family.

Tomorrow is the big day! The grand opening of the Modern Sugar Blvd online store! Whooo! How exciting! Cruise on over there and check out all the amazing digi stamps! There is a little something for everyone!!

Here are some projects I created for the second round DT call using some of the very images you can purchase tomorrow! :)
Circle Card:

Image: Blogging Gal (MSB)

I threaded around the edge of the card with yellow floss. Then I embossed the white cardstock layer with the "Spots and Dots" Cuttlebug folder. The flower with flourishes is a cardstock sticker. I colored the image with Bic Write-It markers. I printed the sentiment from my computer.

Post-It note holder:

Image: Cake Gal (MSB)

This is one of the post-it note holders I am so fond of making lately! :) I used some Stampin' Up DSP (designer series paper) for the background. I will have to look up the name of it. I colored the image with my Bics.

Recipe card box/holder:

Image: Cake Gal (MSB)

I made the recipe box from a template I found on SCS. The background paper is "The Sweet Stack" from DCWV. I made the border with SU's scallop border punch. The chocolate chip cookies I made using a large circle punch and normal hole punch. Then I took a smaller circle punch and made bite marks.

MSB will be rockin' all week! Check it out for some great stamps, deals, ideas and more!! While you're at it take a look-see at the work of all the other amazing DT members. "The Sugars" are stock full of talent!!

I can't believe it!!!

I just read on the Modern Sugar Blvd blog that I have made it to round 2 of their design team call!

Good grief! I'm so excited I almost "whoot-whooted" and woke the boy up!! ;)

You can see my submission a few posts down. I found out about the call a day before they were due and didn't think I had the remotest shot. That's not to say I will make the final cut, but this is the closest I've made it to a DT team so I am thrilled!

I can't wait to get to work on my next submissions. I will post a little "sneak peek" when I'm done so you can tell me what you think! (Don't worry, they said that was ok) :)

Also, I got some free stamps in the mail today from Inkadinkadoo. They are running a contest of sorts on their website. It's not really a contest because everyone wins. ;) They are sending out up to 3 stamps to anyone who sends in projects using their stamps. I sent in three and got my stamps today. Here's a pic:
It's not quite as exciting as a design team, but it's all made for a fabulous day! :)

There's always a first time for everything...

So, I entered my first Design Team call! (I didn't make it, but honestly I was SO excited to just enter). I felt like I was stepping up on the scrapping ladder! Since the call is over I thought I'd post the cards I entered. Maybe I can at least get some helpful suggestions for the next go-round! :)

I love this cutie couple! They are very 50's reminiscent. I colored them with my PrismaColor pencils. I am still trying to get the hang of coloring in general. I like the pencils really well though.

This is the second card I submitted. I was trying to do some fancy flower work in the corner. I knotted pink ribbon and then attached the flowers with sparkly brads. I colored the image with Bic Write-It markers.

I love this little guy! He's so cute! I used him for my son's 2nd birthday party cards and favors as well as for the DT call. I colored him with PrismaColor pencils and tried to make it a little bolder. I also traced around the stamped image with a black marker.

I was really pumped to enter this DT call. I knew I had absolutely no chance of making it, but it was fun working on cards that would be judged and not just tossed out! :) The company hosting the DT call was The Greeting Farm. Their stamps are insanely cute! Check them out!
