It's about that time!

Christmas is just around the corner and I desperately want to get a jump on things. I am planning on crafting a lot of gifts this year so I really should get started....two months ago.

>.<

In the meantime here is a compilation of some ah-mazing ideas I've found on Pinterest. I would love to try them all but I am quite certain I will be lucky just to get the tree up this year.

I have been looking for a cute bell wreath so I can make this wall decoration. I will probably find it the day after Christmas.

I've had this idea pinned forever now. I'm sure I have enough buttons stored up. The original link wasn't with this pin. Sorry about that. It looks relatively easy to figure out though.

Here is another pin without a link. I've seen this idea lots of places though. I love anything that is a memory keeper. This would be so cute to look back on each year. Especially when your children are grown.

I love primitive country! This project is quick and super cute. I may actually be able to make some of these this year!

This craft is great because you probably have all the materials on hand.

And time for one more. I am definitely going to try and make one of these ornaments this year. We took a vacation to Disney World this year and this would be perfect for the tree.

So these are a few of the many ideas I have pinned to my Christmas board. I would love to be able to make them all but I am rooted in just enough reality to know that I might be able to make three, tops. You never know though. I might just pull off a little Christmas miracle and make four. :D

Christmas card auditions

I've been trying out a few ideas for this year's Christmas card. I just got the "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set from Stampin' Up and I am loving it. So I'm leaning heavily toward this card. I would have to modify the flower though. It sits pretty high. It would be a pain to mail. :)

Stamps: Greeting Card Kids and Fundamental Phrases - SU

Ink: StazOn Black and Distressing ink - Tea Stain

Ribbon: Unknown

Coloring: PrismaColor Pencils

Embossing: Textile Texture - Cuttlebug

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip & Pear Pizzaz - SU

I made the rose by punching a strip of Cherry Cordial CS with the scallop border punch. I then used my distressing ink to age it a bit. Then I crinkled the paper strip, wrapped it around itself and roughed it up a bit. ;) Then I adhered it with aqua glue.

Not too hard. I might have to tweak a few thing for mass production, but other than that I think it might work well as this year's Christmas card!

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day...

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men

And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they're singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men

But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men

Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men

Then ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men

And the bells they're ringing
Like a choir they're singing
And with our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Do you hear the bells they're ringing?
The life the angels singing
Open up your heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

-Casting Crowns

God bless you all on Christmas and may you find His salvation and peace for the new year! Thanks for you encouragement, love and support!!

Christmas Time's a-comin'......

I am going to have to start working on Christmas projects reaaaaally soon. Be on the look-out for my efforts here. :)

I am thinking of making some little candy holders for my Sunday school class. They like candy any way they can get it! Of course I'll be making clay ornaments for my family. I have a Christmas card idea floating around the 'ol noggin so I need to get to work on that.

I don't think I'll be doing quite as much this year b/c of the move. I hate not doing anything though. I miss crafting when I can't do it.

Good luck with all your projects out there!!

I'll have a blue Christmas...maybe...

I sat down at my crafting table with the SU stamp set "Branch Out", fully intending to make a Christmas card. I thought it might be nice to get an idea for this year's card. This is what I ended up with. I really like the card, I just don't think it makes a good "official" Christmas card. :)

Stamps: SU - Branch Out
Paper: SU - Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue
Ink: SU - Same colors as paper ;)
Accessories: Corner rounder punch

Who knows. Maybe this will end up being our Christmas card this year. If it doesn't I'm sure I can find some use for it! :)
